Description

Casa Solarolo is an exquisite, 18th Century house in Ostuni, Puglia, presented to the highest standard. It has recently been restored and equipped with contemporary furnishing and fittings whilst retaining many original features.
The exposed vaulted ceilings, Italian stone floors and use of marble offer a peaceful and romantic base from which to explore the diverse and interesting area of Southern Italy.

The house, with air-conditioning, is cool and light in summer and central heating has been installed for the winter months. There are two wonderful terraces for alfresco dining, which overlook the rooftops of this very beautiful city.

The house is ideally located just to the side of Ostuni’s main Piazza, della Liberta, is within strolling distance of the wonderful bars and restaurants and offers easy access to the historical centre with its 15th century cathedral.

Utterly enchanting

We fell in love with Ostuni last year.

We returned this year staying at Casa Solarolo.

Oh my word! This house is utterly enchanting, utterly delightful!

It's location is unrivalled. The quality of the renovation is amazing, yet it feels really homely and welcoming.

It was spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you could possibly need and everything worked.

We particularly enjoyed the terraces and their spectacular views.

The booking process was very straightforward and we had no need to call upon the services of Franco - however it was very reassuring to know that someone was on hand should we need it

We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Ostuni and Casa Solarolo are perfect.

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful town

Great location within the town of Ostuni. Very close, but not right in the old town which is ideal. Very well equipped apartment, beautifully decorated with very efficient air conditioning.
Both the owner and manager took care of all questions and requests efficiently. Outdoor space is great for sunbathing, eating and drinking with a lovely view, and has the benefit of the outdoor shower to cool off.
Overall, I would strongly recommend the town of Ostuni and this apartment in particular.

Lovely Ostuni townhouse

My wife and I had a great week in Ostuni. The house is well positioned just around the corner from the main piazza, is clean and well maintained, and Franco was very helpful, explaining everything on arrival.

The aircon and shutters keep the house cool, and the roof terrace is perfect for sunbathing. There is plenty of information on places to visit, restaurants, shopping etc. available in the house from the owners and previous tenants. We visited Alberobello, the grottos, Lecce and Polignano a Mare as well as exploring Ostuni itself.

We loved the beautiful food and wine at the local restaurants, which seemed reasonably priced. The piazza was always busy until late each evening, so people-watching with a drink at one of the cafes was always entertaining. There is no wi-fi in the house, but several of the cafes have free wi-fi available.
We would thoroughly recommend this property (as long as you don't mind climbing a few stairs!).

We have stayed at Casa Solarolo on two occasions, once as a couple and also with two friends. The house has a contemporary interior yet retains many original features. It is very stylish and chic and the owners have thought of everything, from the comfortable beds to the kitchen which is kitted out with everything you will need for preparing your own meals. Ostuni has the most amazing fresh food shops which provide fish, meat, vegetables and fruit of the highest quality for just a few euros. This house is in a perfect location, just steps away from the historical centre, with it's wonderful restaurants and bars yet in a truly traditional and delightful quiet traffic free tiny street. Cocktails on the roof terraces were the perfect start to every evening and we thought this was a wonderful place to sit and watch the City light up for the evening. This is also a great place for outdoor eating and the shower on the lower terrace cooled us down when sunbathing. This is a fantastic idea by the owners. There is loads of information at the house about the City and local area, great CD's and DVD's and it is spotlessly clean. It is unusual to find anywhere which meets all expectations but this holiday did. Casa Solarolo is very good value for money and very much like being in your own boutique hotel. Ostuni is the most beautiful City. Go and experience it for yourself! Mr and Mrs Doorish, Switzerland.

Ostuni in October

Our stay in Casa Solarolo was fabulous. The house is amazing. The house is wonderfully decorated and furnished. It was beautifully presented and clean and tidy when we arrived .The vaulted stone ceilings are lovely. The house was equipped with everything you could need including all the little things that are often not provided, meaning you have to buy excessive quantities and not use them. Things like washing up liquid, soap, dishwasher tablets. The fact that everything was included and available is a big plus for us and means you can enjoy the holiday without thinking about mundane things.
We were there at the end of October but the weather, though changeable, was still warm enough, even hot (26 degrees and sunny) enough to sit and enjoy breakfast and drinks on the roof overlooking the city.
Ostuni is a fascinating city and the house and its location up the steps of a steep lane surrounded by everyday Italian homes gives you a real feel of belonging to the city. The windows have mosquito netting fitted which is a great idea.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend Casa Solarolo as a great holiday house.
